i need to find some standard classic wedding songs - you know the ones - cheesy romantic tunes that typically get slapped on wedding videos. I have a couple but need more.

    Suggestions?

time to say goodbye (con ti parti, i think is what it is also known as). Think sarah brightman and andrea bocelli have a version of it

Pighead knows what hes going to have played as his first song.
I'm on the floor,I can feel her greedy sweaty hands grip me like a vicescripts. Her soft beautiful face has turned cold and hard.Cue the music.
Please Release Me by Engelburt Humperdink

Well my mate is going to have Phil Collins' Groovy Kind Of Love as her wedding dance song. I'd say there's a few of Phil's that are sappy enough for a wedding video!

Why is it the bride wears white on the happiest day of her life...
but the groom is generally in black? Day of mourning.

Phil Collins? Oh - he's just about cheesy enough to be just right.

I'm looking for real suggestions here - not what you want played at your wedding day but the ****e that people acutally get played these days.

    The cheesy classics essentially.

(That's a good name for a compilation album!)

Are you talking bout the acctual wedding ceremony itself or the afters?

I was playin guitar wit a few others (in the church) a couple months back and they had songs like Fields of Gold ,(did you ever know that your my) Hero , love can build a bridge, Can't help fallin' in love with you, etc and of course the churchy ones.

If your talkin bout reception after-party or even the wedding heres a good site (I think)

You to Me Are Everything - The Real Thing

It Started With A Kiss - Hot Chocolate

Baby, Now That I've Found You - The Foundations

    Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers

Your Song - Moulin Rouge Version

You Do Something To Me - Paul Weller

I Just Wanna Make Love To You - Etta James

Endless Love - Lionel Richie & Diana Ross

    More Than Words - Extreme

And just for the shear sake of it,

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow - The Shirrlies

Having listed this cheese fest I'll probably have something like Slayer at my wedding!

Oh and how could I forget

    *puts on big deep voice*

"Now; I've, Had The Time of my Life, And I never felt this way before, I swear it's the truth, and I owe it all to YOU" *Enter drum solo!

Pretty much most of the Dirty Dancing OST

    Annie's Song by John Denver

You fill up my senses like a night in the forest.
    Like a mountain in spring-time
like a walk in the rain
like a storm in the desert
    like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.

Come let me love you, let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arm.
Let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you.
Come let me love you, come love me again.

    Or

You're My Best Friend by Don Williams

YOU PLACED GOLD ON MY FINGER
YOU BROUGHT LOVE LIKE I'VE NEVER KNOWN
YOU GAVE LIFE TO OUR CHILDREN
AND TO ME A REASON TO GO ON

YOU'RE MY FRIEND WHEN I'M HUNGRY
YOU'RE MY SHELTER FROM TROUBLED WINDS
YOU'RE MY ANCHOR IN LIFE'S OCEAN
BUT MOST OF ALL YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND

WHEN I NEED HOPE AND INSPIRATION
YOU'RE ALWAYS STRONG WHEN I'M TIRED AND WEAK
I COULD SEARCH THIS WHOLE WORLD OVER
YOU'D STILL BE EVERYTHING THAT I NEED.

V soppy but I love the melody, great for a wedding video or something!

Ive got two words for ya...

    .TEENAGE DIRTBAG.

Any song with DIRTBAG in the title just gets me every time. lol

    But seriously
We used Thats Amore by Dean Martin played as a slow waltz. Took waltzing lessons too.

ALso considered somthing abit more up tempo such as

I thought love was only true in fairy tales,
Meant for someone else but not for me,
Love was out to get me, (Baddabudumbadum)
That's the way it seems, (Baddabudumbadum)
    Dissapointment Haunted all my dreams,

And then I saw her face...
