Two hands from the Fitz 50/50 game

A couple of hands from last Fridays 50/50 game in the Fitz that I'm not really happy about. I hadn't played a proper game in a couple of months, so I wasn't as tuned in as I needed to be, and I think I made a few bad decisions during the game.

Hand 1: Blinds 500/1000, I have 35K, and hold TT in UTG+1. UTG pushes for 24K. From his previous play, I put him on JJ, TT, 99, or AK. 88 and AQ are also possible, but much less likely. I think he'll make a standard raise with AA, KK or QQ, and limp with smaller pairs. Do I call?

Hand 2: Final Table, down to 6. Blinds at 2000/4000. I'm in the SB with AJo, and have ~50K. Button has ~45K and makes it 20K to go. He's a tight player, and hasn't been stealing at all (He only played one hand at the final table thus far, calling an all-in with AK). In saying that, he appears very nervous when I go into the tank, and I don’t think he wants a call. Push or fold?

For me first hand is a definite fold. Why he's going with that bet I dunno, but I don't want to pay 24BB to find out either.

2nd is a little trickier, but with your stack size and the info you provided about Villian, I think I would have let this go as well, even though I would have tested him if I thought it was just a regular steal, he's probably on a mid pair going from your commentary, and he ain't folding after putting 20K in.
I rather be raising with that AJ on the final table rather than calling.

The blinds have just passed you, I dunno how the rest of the table stacks up, but I think I'd have folded both hands.

Hand1: I think i would only consider calling if i was in the blinds and everyone passed to me. I'd be equally concerned about what he has and what someone after me might have if i called. Also because he has so many chips and doesnt need to risk it with something mediocre UTG would be another reason why i would often fold.

Hand2: I dont know. Sometimes i would push sometimes i would pass. I think these fellas that you describe as tight throughout go to work on that fact at these stages, you could easily have caught him stealing if you put him all in.

Hand 1 I find interesting, as I've seen this move a number of times with JJ. It seems that some people don't like to/can't play it any other way when in EP. For that reason alone I'm folding.

Hand 2 is also a fold for me. Takes a lot of second guessing to go to war here and it's unnecessary.

Im folding both hands, the first one could be an underpair but more likely overcards or overpair, I wouldnt be willing to gamble for that much of my stack, second one I would push with AJ but never call with it

Based on the range you gave hand 1 is an call, theres only 1 hand your worried about and two that you have dominated. You might want to have a look around the table and see if anyone else looks paticularly excited by their holdings. I think hes made it easier for you by ruling out three of the overpairs.

Hand 2 I think you have to push, hes on the button so even a tight players range will be quite wide. Im happy to push all in with AJ or call all in with it depending on the circumstances. Who knows maybe he'll fold.

Hand 1: I folded, and he showed 99. Regarding his range of hands, I thought the most likely was JJ, 99, and AK. I'm in trouble against JJ, and racing against AK, so I didn't want to risk taking a hit to a decent 35K stack. If I lost I was in push-or-fold mode, which I hate.

A genuine question: Even if a call is (marginally) +EV, if it leaves you in trouble stack-wise, should you always make it?

Hand 2: I folded this as well, and regretted it immediately. He never showed, but the more I thought about it, the more I'm sure I was ahead and possibly up against a weaker Ace. Plus, there's a big chance he would have folded if I pushed, because I'm sure he wanted to sneak into the higher money spots.

Fifth in the end, Paul. The other guys were still in. Folding the AJ hand was a big mistake, I think. Had I won (or even if villain just folded) I would have moved into a decent chip position, and had a great shot at 1st or 2nd. 5th only got me €200 profit. Not worth getting out of bed for!
