Increasing download speed for limewire?

    is there anyway to increase download speed for programmes like limewire. or is there a faster alternative. Im trying to download a 300mb video file.

    The person hosting the file determines how fast the file is going to be dl i think, i could be wrong but that how i see it. You could be dl off someone with a 56k connection which is gonna take a long time.

    yeah thats the way it goes...you can get limewire pro...or you can just pick the right downloads to dl..go for ones with t3,t1 first then if not there go for dsl but try to avoid 56k and look at the sources as well which is indicated by the number to the left of download and the higher the faster..ya see each person gives about 5-10 kb upload but with 10-15 of these sources youll download in no time

    make sure theres feck all in your shared folder, if no one uploads off ya your dl speed rockets
