Hi, I'm writing my thesis in college on how comic books have influenced every aspect of pop-culture and I'm working on a chapter on sexuality and I would like the opinions of the gay community about comic book characters and the general attitude towards the gay community in comics.

I'm working on a survey and would like anyone interested to e-mail me to complete the interview I have, my e-mail address is sensiblename182@yahoo.co.uk

Any help would be much appreciated!

Well, it really depends on the comic. Most of the ones I've read have been pretty fair with gay characters but maybe that's more a reflection on the sort of comic I like more than anything else. (I'm not very keen on superhero ones at all)!

This one's interesting - it's about a guy growing up in the 60's and coming to terms with his homosexuality (and lots more as well) although it's not a favourite of mine as I thought the visuals were a bit dull.

But I'm not actually a mmember of the gay community so maybe my opinions are of no use to you!

Neil Gaiman's the Sandman, the fifth volume, "A game of you", three of the main characters were a lesbian couple and a pre-op transsexual named Wanda.

Or you could just write an essay on Superman's costume.

Why would I write my thesis on his costume?
I'd end up talking aboot the exact pantone shade of blue, red and yellow is used!

But I really want the gay people on the forum to e-mail me and I'll interview them via e-mail!!!
