Yes its bewteen the village and Bushy Park. As far as I know it was the residence of the ambassador Dr Hemple. Thinks its private now.

Trouble is:

Google Earth doesn't really do the South side, and

The IOL links in the thread are dead.

So, is anyone here from Templeogue that can confirm/deny the shape of the house?

Yeah its there and its roughly in the shape of a swastica. It wouldnt be wierd to live in its only a shape. Dr Hemple was not a Nazi and had good relations with DeV.

Says that it was a swastika painted onto the roof.
You could try using www.iavi.ie to find it considering the pictures are real old so it may still be there.

That looks to be more like 4 seperate 'L' shaped buildings that are just placed next to each other in an unfortunate configuration.

Well, it would of been pretty obvious what it looked like when they were drawing up the plans for it....maybe they wanted it that way?

Not if on the plans they had just written 'we'll stick some trees here'. If it wasn't for the fact that they paved the central area, and that happens to be a similar colour to the roofs, then it would not look like a swastika at all.
