So what do people prefer, matchplay, singles - stroke/stableford, fourballs, scrambles etc, etc.

Personally, I'd take a singles strokeplay any day of the week but a scramble every now and again can be a bit of fun. But I suppose if I'm on a golf course, no matter what the format, then it's all good!

    Matchplay is thanks=D

I find its a much more pleasing game, cause its just one on one, or maybe 2v2. And you can directly influence your opponent and vice versa, and I think its a grea thinking game.

You can take your foot of the ags on ahole where your opponent is in trouble or step up a gear when needed. You find you play shots not because you wnat to but because you have to. You find yourself playing amazing shots you just wouldnt do in a strokers game in fear of losing shots. And the satisfation of winning.

I preferably prefer a fourball game of matchplay, foursomes i really like, singles is ok, im not a huge fan tho=) In my club we have a kinda ryder cup, where the juveniles play the adults. Its in its third year and in my three appearances im 2 losses 1 win=( my losses were in singles against guys of 5 =(

But singles does give a savage blood rush =D

The best game is strokeplay; you are forced to make every shot as good as it can be. In matchplay, you can play rubbish and find you still win, that won't happen too often with strokeplay.

I'm also keen on stableford, because you plan the strategies for the low index holes
