I got the Tevion Steering wheel yeaterday in Aldi. When I connect it to my PS2, it does not work at all. There is an indicator LED and this does not light either.

I checked the website and they suggested that if it does not work with Slim PS2 to check memory card and existing controller, both are OK.

    Any suggestions.

Unfortunatly the Aldi I got it in is 70 miles away. just checking if anyone got it to work with the slim ps2. The suggestion on the support site seems odd.

Just want to make sure it works with the slim ps2.

Changed the steering wheel and no change, would it be possible that the Slim playstation 2 does not supply enough power to work this steering wheel.

    Cheers :(

 No, I got someone to buy a second wheel for me and it is exactly the same. When I plug it into my usb on the pc, a light lights on the steering while when I plug it into the playstation, the light does not light, this gets me thinking it is a power problem. Pity as it seems a good wheel.

    Hi everyone,
I have an explanation why you have problems with the Steering wheel and your PS2.
The problem is in the power supply of the PS2, and not in the steering wheel, it happens that the PSU of the PS2 is very sensitive.

There are 2 electric circuits to the controler port in the PS2, +3.3V and +8V. 3.3V is used to the handle the signal from the controler, while the 8V is used to the vibration. ( the steering wheel has to use the 8V while a normal controler can run without it).

tron the slimline model, the 8V gets burned very easy if you connect/unplug an unoriginal controler/memory card while the PS2 is turned on.

All the original devices have a "safety" device that protect against those burning out, but many unoriginal devices/controlers/memcards dont!

The Tevion Steering Wheel has this Safety device(fuse/Chip) built in that protects against the chip burning out.
So, as you can see - The Steering wheel its not the cause of the problem.

This issue was confirmed by both Sony Corp. and the producer of the Steering Wheel.

To finish, you s can test if your PS2 has the problem, by connecting an original controler a nd see if the Vibration is working - If its not, than the 8V circute in your PS2 is burnt.

To fix this, you take the PS2 to your PS2 dealer and tell him to replace the 8V IC thats burned - then the steering wheel will work again.

Just be _VERY_ carefull not to connect/unplug devices to the PS2, specially un-original devices, while the PS2 is turned on.

This is inside information, should you have any doubts, please call the number on the warranty card you got with the Steering Wheel.

Again, I enphalsize that the problem is not the steering wheel, but the 8V IC circute in your PS2 thats burned caused by you connecting/unplugin an un-original controler/memory card that doesnt have a safety device built in.

;) Offcourse, should your PS2/controlers be working OK - meaning you clan get the vibration working on an original Sony PS2 controler, than it can be that the Steering Wheel is faulty - In this case, please return the product to the shop and get either a replacement or your money back*.

    * law in the current country applies.
Some places you can get your money back within 14 days of the purchase date.
other places it can be different - please consult the shop.
