After seeing the recommendations on here I'm seriously thinking about buying a laptop from Alienware. Just wondering about some things such as -

    Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 650 w/ HT Technology 3.4GHz 2MB Cache
    Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 PC-4200 533MHz - 2x512MB
Hard Drive: Single Drive Configuration - 80GB 7200 RPM ATA100
Wireless network: Built-In Wireless 802.11 b/g miniPCI Card

What are the practical benifits of 3.4Ghz as opposed to 3.0? 80GB 7200 RPM as opposed to 80GB 5400 RPM?

about 400Mhz and a much faster laptop drive, which means better load times

Alienwares systems are pretty cool dude.
As doodee said faster processor and faster load time.
If possible my suggestion for laptops is always go for the Pentium Centrino (M) processors a 1.86GHz M processor is as good as a 3.0GHz processor

Do not get an Alienware laptop with a P4 processor in it. Weights a ton, size of a house, fry an egg and battery life of 30 mins are what spring to mind..

please dont get an alienware, please dont, my mate is spending 5500 on an alienware pc, u would make a better pc if u built it yourself, seriously or ill even do it for u,lol. ya fair enough alienware are cool, some ppl jus get em to say oooo look at me i have an alienware pc, im great. u can get replica alienware cases online, i will hate u if u spend a few grand on a alienware, jus make one urself........its alot cheaper

If you do buy an alienware pc, then get yourself a copy of norton ghost. Aleanware tweak the OS to make it run faster on their machines. If you rebuild the machine at a later stage, even using their recovery disks these tweaks will be lost.

    I bought a Sony VAIO FS315S
    Intel Centrino Pentium M 750 Processor (1.86Ghz)
    Massive 1024Mb DDR RAM
    100Gb Hard Disk
Incredible 15.4" Widescreen display with X-Black Technology
    DVD Dual Layer Burner

Unbelievable screen. The quality is superb. Playing games is so much more an experience than pure joy. Counter Strike online with the wireless technology wow. The P M processor doesn't heat up like the P4 so you don't feel the burn and the display is immaculate!!

The company is located in Mountmellic in Laois of all places. They seem trustworthy. They confirmed the order over the phone to verify the order. I did the bank to bank transfer and I had the laptop delivered to my door seven days later everything covered under warranty and insurance.

That was my experience, hope you have a similar enjoyable one.
