Listening to Julie London singing some of the old jazz standards last night and I was thinking I reckon her voice was one of the best female voices for the songs. Anyone any thoughts on Julie?

I've only heard a few tracks including the standard "Cry me a River" which would melt your heart. If you had a heart!

Such a beautiful voice. If you had tear ducts you'd cry. Her rendition of 'Fly me to the moon' is the best version IMO.

Well I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that she is best jazz singer, but she really does have a wonderful tone and quality to her voice that draws you in like no other! She is a very straight singer though so if your looking for some improv or harmony with the melody you wont get them from her. What you will get is the standards sung exactly as they were written, with a beautiful voice that fills your ears
