My god, looks like Resi 4 on the PS2 has caught John Carmackitis.

Jokes aside apart from the fogging, reduced atmosphere effects and colour and the lower polygon count (not that noticable) it is a great conversion. One of the best looking games on the PS2. I'm still glad I have it on the GC :p

it looks a hell of a lot better than i thuoght it would but the detaiol is still real low. sure look at leons jacket with the furry neck. doesnt even look like its furry on ps2.

still screenshots are worse than game cube but i wonder how the framerate will hold up.

Looks like the badly glossed over the bits the the PS2 couldnt handle...

GC version beats it hands down

not a resi fan either way but it just seems to me they custom made shaders for the gc and never bothered to make anything for the ps2

Well that would be because the PS2 can't handle shaders since it hasn't the hardware. It's possible to do software shaders on the PS2 but with a game as detailed as Resi 4 you can say goodbye to the framerate.

One thing that is greatly improved over the GC version is the inclusion of a proper widescreen mode with no black borders

The graphics do seem slightly toned down, but what Im delighted about is actually getting to play the game 6 months ago on the GC! Conversions that take too long are a major annoyance...
