I want to set up a wireless network for my broadband between my laptop & PC, will this "Sweex 54 Mbps Wireless Broadband Router
This Sweex 54Mbps Wireless Broadband Router enables you to create a wireless network for your home or office in no time at all, this makes it ideal for connections to existing ADSL modems including cable modems
" & this " Sweex 54 Mbps Wireless LAN PCI card Insert the card into one of the PCI slots in your computer to communicate with other wireless workstations or access points in the network almost straight away." do the trick for me? Would I connect the Router to my laptop & the PCI card to my PC?
At the moment I'm using a ZyXEL Prestige 623R-T1 modem and its connected to my laptop.
    Thanks

router connects to modem = a connection accessible via wireless by any client.
you'd install the PCI card into the PC - correct.
you'd want a wireless PCMCIA card or USB dongle for the laptop - this would allow you to move the laptop around..

I don't move the laptop around too many things connected to it, HD, DVD writer etc so could I connect that router to the modem, modem to laptop (already is) & PCI card to PC and then I'd be all setup, yes?

Well the laptop is mine & PC is the parents and they were using stoneage dial-up till I made the mistake  of letting them use my laptop for the internet one day and now thay want broadband too so thats why I need to connect them and wireless is the easist way (i think).
Does that answer all your questions? Any more? :D

I didn't mean for you to be held accountable.. just... why not wire up the PC was a rhetorical question. at ease! :p

I got the above Router but got the Sweex 54 Mbps Wireless LAN USB 2.0 Adapter, With this 54 Mbps wireless USB adapter, it is simple to add an extra workstation to your wireless network. instead of the PCI card.
I set it up and the internet is working on both Laptop & PC but with the PC the conection speed is 12 Mbps and signal strength is very low and keeps disconnecting from the laptop. Is there a way I can make the connection stronger?

Never heard of that router before....... sounds like a nasty coldsore or something.

Have you tried updating the firmware of the Router yet?
