Yes it's perfectly legal. Channels are crap though.

Yes it will work here, whether its a legit FTV card or an ex sub card is impossible to say.

Mate of mine looking to buy this on ebay from England. It says that it will allow him to see ITV2, Channel4 etc.
Will this work over here? He has sky digital.

Is this a legit card? i know nothing about satellite stuff, so I don't want to rock any boats.

    Any help appreciated!

Why in the name of bejaysus did they have a Buy It Now price of less than the retail price? Unless they intend to ream you on shipping ("it needs special packaging because its got a chip on it, innit") they've outright let themselves be had.

I'd say they're ex sub cards but they should still work. £6.85 is what they have quoted for worldwide P&P. I think I'll have a couple of those.

They won't be worth much when the only extra channels are C4, Five and Sky Three :)

Channels 4 & 5 are the main reason most people are getting them now :)

I must be on a different wavelength. Since C4 closed their film making and stopped commisioning decent animations a year or so ago I havent found ANYTHING to watch on it.

Once in a very very rare blue moon I maight spot a film on Five.

C4 used to be good and is now pathetic, Five was always a waste of spectrum.

This should be under Broadcast mad rants section, not Satellite.

Hmm, I have an ex sub NI card that wont work in my digi box even for the ftv channels, no use on the pc cam either.

Think ex viewing cards are still locked to the box they were originally for unlike the Freesat ones. (i also tried setting the nds box serial in the dragon to the same as the NI original box..but still didnt work..needs keep alive signal)

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Isnt ITV 1/2 still currently encrypted ? so worth it for the F1 etc there too.

They're not paired to the original boxes. I have an ex-UK subcard and it works a treat. If the card has been switched off completely by Sky then they won't work in any box, which may be the case with the one you have.
My problem is that I only have 1 card and 3 digiboxes. :)
ITV 1/2 are encrypted but the word is they will be FTA before the next F1 season starts.
Watty, I like channel 4 but haven't really watched C5 much yet. The missus does though so you may be right on that one :D
Everyone to their own I suppose.

The BBC used to paired to a box, but long gone. Only the premium channels are paired to a box in UK or Irl, In IrL, RTE maight be paired.

A typical scam used to be to sell an ACTIVE sub card as a ex sub, then ring Sky and say dog ate it etc, and get a free replacement, Sky automatically turn off the old one completely.

Also if a card is out of use a long time it may need up to 2 days to reactivate, though a few hours is more common.

Or it may be "broken" or the old pre "yellow house" version, none of those work. It must be a Yellow house on it.

So there are Four reasons an exsub card may not work.

At least these are going for reasonable prices now, demand must have dropped with itv soon to be FTA. Not so long ago it was common to see people looking for up to €200 for these.
