Hi this is a silly question but do you have to use dell ink in a dell printer? I've been told both yes and no.

They're usually just rebadged. Find out what the original manufacturer/model is and you can use their ink or third-party ink.

Great. thanks. The ink dell are selling is a bit of a rip off tbh

afaik they're usually lexmarks. These are expensive printers to get ink for. Best option is selling it on and getting a different printer with cheaper refills.

Most of the "cheap refills" sites offer "Dell" alternative cartridges, without you even having to search for the Lexmark model.
