    Hi,

I'm new to this forum but thought it might be a good place to let people know about WuZu Shaolin ( Five Ancestors Shaolin ).
We have a club in Co. Dublin (Blackrock - near the Dart and Bus routes) and have an introductory course starting next thursday the 20th October.
    Details are:
6 week introductory course (experienced martial artists welcome also),
    Costs €90 - or €170 for two.
Times are 7.30 - 9pm each thursday evening.

Our hall is in Sion Hill School, Cross Avenue, Blackrock ( for a map see:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~wuzuquanshaolin/how_to_get_to_wuzuquan_classes.htm ). You can get the 46A from town and get off at the top of Merrion Av. and walk down or get the 7 / 8 / 45 buses and get off just before blackrock village and walk up (see map for more detailed directions).

We should have our offical site (www.wuzu-ireland.com) live in the next few days until then if anyone wants to get in touch or come down to the training hall you can email me at wuzuquanshaolin@eircom.net or post me here.

Heres some more info about the system tho to keep you going :

Wuzuquan (or Ngor Chor in the Hokkien language) is a highly sophisticated fighting system, which is at the same time simple in its application. Over 700 years ago, Wuzuquan was created by the masters of five distinct Shaolin systems, namely: Luohan, Taizu, Damo, Baihe and Xingzhe, each master contributing the main strength of his art.

Wuzuquan is an internal system of martial arts. This means that it does not require brute strength but instead overcomes its opponents through skill and correct application of technique. In fact, any of our students who used to follow a regime of weight training can tell you that brute strength is a distinct disadvantage. In apparent contradiction to this, Wuzuquan is also a very powerful art, which uses kicks, hand-strikes, locks, throws and grappling on an attacker's vulnerable points to devastating effect.

The chi gung exercises, forms and partner work that we practice are highly rewarding in many distinct ways. From a martial point of view the practice builds great stamina and internal strength and increases one's power and skill. The chi gung excercises are as beneficial as the more well-known tai chi and yoga systems, increasing vital energy and more importantly awareness of your internal energy. These together with meditation that builds huge mind strength and focus, offer a beautifully balanced system that will benefit anyone that puts the time and effort in.

Our master is Mr. Han Kim Sen based in london, he typically visits us between 7 or 10 times a year to teach over intensive 3 day weekends. All students in the club (as well as our sister club in UCD) are welcome to attend these weekends.

Hope this is of interest to some of you - feel free to ask me any questions,
    or email me.

    Cheers,

    Mark
