How long does it take to get from the city centre to Drogheda on a Thursday evening?

The connection to poker should be obvious.

    Thanks

25 mins from M50 turnoff, so if you head out from city centre about 7.45pm, you should be there in time easy enough.

    See you there ;)

The boardsters revenue raid on this tourney didn' materialise, the locals kept it in the family last night.

Out in 10th on the bubble :(

hmmm... I don't think we'll be saying much more about the raid on Drogheda.

Thanks for the info by the way Culchie. I'm impressed with how you've managed to be so consistent in these tournaments.

I found last night to be a case of get cards or get lucky - well at my table anyway and I also can't comment beyond the earlier stages of the tournament but I found the blinds in the early parts a bit heavy.

    Well run tournament though.

Well done on 10th. Shame there's no bubble prize!

Cheers, my 4 6 sooted V's KK filling a straight might give some indication ! ;), that kept me alive one orbit longer than I should have towards the end.

In fairness, I got muck cards all last night except for one orbit,
Lost a big pot when my set of 7's were called and trod on by a flush draw merchant, however very next hand I got AA and they held up against quite a few callers (the last hand before the break) and so got them immediately back with interest.
First hand after break In where I had to lay down AQ on the button (wrongly as it turned out) to a re-raise from CO.

Other than those 3 hands, I got terrible cards, and just stole once an orbit or so to keep alive, but the blinds caught me in the end.

I'm very happy with my live MTT run at the moment, 13 of 16 final tables, and one bubble.

well done, 10th aint bad. it strikes me as a hard tourney to just final table.
did you go bohsman, any more summaries?

Didnt get any cards all night but got lucky when blind hands hit the flop a couple of times to keep me alive but ultimately I lost two 50 50s and that was that. Its like the rebuy tournaments on PPP if you can get ahead its automatic poker - no thinking required and if you dont get ahead theres always the sit and gos

A local(ie.recent blowin) and a boardster!!. Had a good night a got great cards. Got up to 2800 on first hand which set me up nicely. Won about first eight hands I played and only had to show twice I think.
However I was very lucky in one hand. I called the only other high stacks all-in when I had a flush draw. I was holding QJ spades with 2 spades on the flop. If I lost I was back to about $4000 (this was just before the add-on). The only reason I called was there were two players on a Spade draw in the hand before and four spades came on the board. I figured the dealer didn't give the cards much of a shuffle and there was a very good chance I'd make the flush, and I did consider he might be on a higher one, but I always play re-buys to tight(this was my 4th live tourney) at the start and had decided before hand to be much looser this week, so I called. The other guy had QQ. Turn came 9 diamonds and river 2 of spades. PHEW!!. This put me up to about 22000 and well in the lead.
Continued on to about 70,000 until things dried up for about 40 mins, by then down to last 15 or so. Caught a few more and delighted to get 3rd.

Best piece of advice for anyone thinking of going...WEAR YOUR WOOLIES...coz the place is feckin' frezzin'
