Where's the cheapest place to pick up a 2GB or 4GB Kingston compact flash card? Cheapest I've found for 2GB so far are:
    €145 - shop4memory.com
    €138 - komplett.ie

I want a Kingston card because it's for an Edirol R-1, and Kingston appear to be the cheapest of the cards compatible with it.

without a doubt ebay will be cheaper.
There should really be a sticky at the top of this forum saying
"ebay is generally the cheapest place for all electronic goods"

Just be really careful of the P&P, although the card is tiny most sellers will charge around €40 inc insurance but I've seen it as high as €100 or more!

I make that €115, I dont think you spotted the "required insurance". Always read the descriptions like a hawk. Check their feedback by posting their name at www.toolhaus.org

Many charge high post/insurance for 2 reasons.
    1. They appear first in the list if you sort by lowest price first.
    2. They only pay a % to ebay on the selling price not the post/insurance.

many moan about high post, but why did you buy from them then? simple, they were the cheapest.
If 2 suppliers buy a product at the same price and want to make the same profit the one with the higher postage cost can sell it cheaper overall.

That's the danger with buying stuff off eBay. For €23 extra I can get the same thing from komplett and be assured that they'll replace it if it's faulty.

So far I haven't been able to find Kingston cards online cheaper than komplett for any store that ships to Ireland.

That shouldn't be applicable to CompactFlash cards though.
