I'm planning on purchasing a tv-link and a distribution amp to control sky box from 3 rooms. The living room which contains the sky box has only 2 down leads from the attic. I was going to move the sky box intyo the attic and control it remotely using the tv-links.
My question is, If the sky box is put into standby mode, will it kill the 9volts out on RF2 and prevent me from turning the box back on using tv-link ??

No, they Sky Box has no real standy, it only blanks the video/audio on the scart and turns off the modulator.

Unlike other boxes, the power consumption is still near 100% and LNB operational.

So the remote eye works just like front panel eye.

IN menu you can set it that if it detects remote direct it chooses 16:9 format and if the remote was via Sky-eye then it changes to 4:3L, Handy for ordinary TVs in other rooms and animorphic via SCART. (Some large 4:3 TVs will do true 16:9 animorphic).

Also don't put box in attic.

Use a separate CT100 cable for LNB and one downlead is aerial and the other is RF2 to distribution AMP.

TV at Sky box gets its aerial signal from RF1 and Sky from RF1 and/or SCART.

RGB SCART is so much higher quality.

NO stereo on RF, only on SCART or RCA connectors.

Only the Terrestrial TV has stereo (NICAM) on the RF, no video recorder, DVD, game console or setbox does RF stereo, only via SCART or RCA/phono or Digital coax/optical conections.
