If someone is online the little circle beside the report bad post button will be lit up green. Also you get a pop up window whenever you get a PM.

I just see when I have a PM in the top right of the screen.

Hmm I thought the default was to have the pop up on. It could be your browser blocking the pop up otherwise go to the boards.ie drop down beside your Subbed drop down then User settings then Options and switch it on.

Well before the pop-up you get a dialog which is javascript. If you have javascript turned off you won't see it.
