Just bought a new MP3 player with 1GB memory. I thought i would be able to put at least 150 songs anyway. But it turns out that i can only put up to howmanny it can fit but the player will only show 99 songs!

If this is just the way of the player i'm gona change it. Or is there a problem?

Do you mean it will actually only fit 99 songs, or only 99 will be displayed?
That whole "fits however many songs" is a load of bollocks, it depends entirely on what size the songs are. A player will only hold as much as its memory capacity will allow, the number of songs is of no relevance.

In other words, if your songs are a smaller file size your player will fit more of them.

mine holds more than 211 but will only play up to 211 and no more even though i can see more there, 99 songs does seem very little for a 1 gig though

Aye, I think I misunderstood the OP, I thought he meant the player actually wouldn't hold anymore. Most MP3 players (or possibly all, I'm not sure) will only display a certain amount of songs, regardless of how many they actually hold. I assume it's just to reduce loading time/stop the player from overloading when you go to browse through directories.

Yeah, more than likely. It's just to stop it crashing. I have an iRiver H340 which pretty much does everything but make you a cup of tea and even it has a limit.

OP, basically it's gonna happen with any MP3 player. If you want to play more songs your only option really is to get one with more memory.
