stunning Emerald Green flame top with bird inlays and tremolo - beautiful 9.8 condition with no notable flaws. This is one of the highly desirable old-factory model with the desirable short heel, one-piece Mil Com bridge. Check out another shot of the top - why was this not a "10"? Who knows. In 2005 it definitely would have been graded a "10". We haven't been inside yet but it probably says "poss 10" and then it's a coin toss when it's finished. If you haven't noticed, the short-heel Customs continue to rise. They're still an excellent value in my opinion, especially when you can get a clean one like this for less than a new one. Let me put it to you like this: A new CU24 with birds lists at $3320 and if you bought one at GC today for $2324, it would be worth less than $1800 if you sold it tomorrow. For the same money, you can get this old-factory Custom that's pretty much guaranteed to rise in value. This example is even more drastic if you consider that this would almost definitely be called a "10" these days, with a list price of $3910. Anyhow, get 'em while you can, $2299. Includes clean original cae.

So why not the good old Karl Hungus eats his own poop?

That'd be more suitable for the Microcube forum though...

    Damn thatsa spicy meatball!

Spent the summer in the states, and spent most of my free time in one GC or another trying to find the perfect guitar. Taste is a personal thing, but the PRS Custom 24 is the greatest guitar I've ever played (granted havent played much, but hey!) Without 3 grand didn't get it this time round, but monies saved plus 21st monies will all be spent on one next summer.

On that note, was considering flying to new york to get it, but damn this is tempting. Having not done any business with this site (looked at it ALOT tho!) could anyone tell me is this

    1. with or without tax price?
    2. is his shipping expensive? and
    3. will customs kick me in the goolies for something like this?

Will search this board for this info - i'm fairly sure these have been asked before

Oh, and having seen stuff on hold at this site before, anyone done that before

Lots of people have dealt with Chris. By all means, a really good bloke to deal with. I'm sure Karl Hungus will be able to tell you more. Also, I'm really gassing over a PRS Tremonti SE.

That's really nice. I'd let one of you buy that for me no problem.

Ive never really looked at chris guitars website, but i checked it there, and hes got some really nice guitars...Ishibashi may move down on my list of favorite guitar shippers :D
Also, i notice that chris has a sunburst peavey wolfgang for $650 (540euro)
    peav03wolfexp-sb.jpg
Mine for 350euro doesnt seem too bad a price eh? (sorry ;) )

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Some wolfgangs I really like, others I really can't stand. Wouldn't mind getting one but they're usually too expensive.

Well, you dont see too many of them here. Or the MM EVH guitars they used to make (they still make the same guitar more or less, just without the EVH name).
People always talk about PRS being a cross between Fender and Gibson, but I reckon these guitars are much closer to that kind of idea, what with the very fender-like neck profile (EVH necks arent at all thin and Ibanez like, which you might expect because of Eddies speediness, theyre actually quite chunky...)

I see Chris has a used Univalve amp on there too. Thats my next purchase... :D
If it wasnt for the voltage difference, id be buying that one off chris...

Screw the voltage difference. Pickup a transformer from Maplins and you're set. That's what Karl Hungus does.

Ill do some sums....dont be surprised if it pops up in the pics thread in a couple of weeks, i REALLY want one of these amps (they have em in MI...sound sooooo good)

That PRS is teh sex. If only I had that kind of money, it'd be mine so fast...

Ye gads! That PRS is quite foul. *Shudders*

The wolfgang looks alright, though I prefer them with flamed maple tops.

You, my friend, should be shot! It's gorgeous!

Thats a lovely PRS. Its a 93 from what I can tell on the headstock. I forgot how nice PRS's are. I hadn't played mine in ages. Just rekindled the relationship. There truly lovely guitars to play. There like butter on the fingers and there just all round comfy to play sitting or standing. They look nice and sustain for days :) I think I could be aquireing a Custom24 along the line to add to the McCarty.

Id like to know what the CE PRS's are like. I know that becuase theyre cheaper than the mahogany necked ones, people think of them as 'cheapo' PRS's, but while id love a Custom 24 just for the hell of it, and becuase theyre quite sexy looking, ive only ever been able to REALLY play on maple necked guitars (dont ask..). Anybody got one?

(Also, i wasnt posting the Wolfgang as a 'guitar of desire' or anything, i much prefer flame tops too, i was just making a joke, because ive the same model for sale in the FS forums.. :D )

    Don't you mean the SE's?

No, CEs - like CE24 or whatever. They hve bolt on maple necks
SE's are Korean, and have all been set mahogany necks so far, (I have one, a Santana)

Oh, my bad. My brain seriously isn't working well today. Slimlines indeed...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

The CE's are **** instruments by any means. They have a different sound and feel to them then the other PRS's. There are other guitars out there for half the price that will give you just was good a quality as the PRS Customs. The eggle guitars are ****ing lovely. There excellent.

Don't get a CE unless its the type of guitar you want.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

I really have to get my hands on the Doc's eggle while I still can. Damn you for having it that night dabhoys!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,706 ✭✭✭Voodu Child

Thats the attitude im talking about. People think of them as cheapo, crappy PRS s. Im just wondering if anyone here had an opinion on it (based on experience), I dont myself becuase ive never played one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

Its still one of my favourite guitars. It absolutely sings through the Recto with the JB :p
