I'm having a party during the Cork Jazz Festival and I want to build a playlist for the night, but I'm a bit short on jazz tunes. If I had my way I'd just play Amy Winehouse's wonderful album Frank over and over again, but I don't think that'd go down very well with everyone else. Aside from Louis Armstrong though, and some not-really-jazz like Jamiroqai, that's about it for my collection. Any recommendations? Nothing too mainstream mind, I'm really looking for kinda smooth, kinda modern, kinda funky stuff.

    Thanks,
    adam

Some 70's Herbie Hancock probably wouldn't go astray - Headhunters usually goes down well at parties.

Right, I went for two Herbie Hancock albums, Cantaloupe Island and Empyrean Isles; plus Cellar Funk by Down to the Bone, which I just happened across by accident; and I remembered that I have Saxuality by Candy Dulfer too; all of which, together with Amy Winehouse, should keep everyone entertained for the evening.

    Thanks again!
