First off, I read the charter, this should be within limits. If it isn't let me know.

A friend of mine has this program (Legal) that allows you to chop and change a song. Very easy to use, only works on time not bars etc. Is there anything like this for film? So you can (in a way) re-edit a movie that you like. (chop of all the endings in Lord of the Rings for example :p ) Freeware or cheap enough though.

    Thanks a bunch

PS: Have we got a forum for everything now? I didn't have a clue where to put this until I stumbled here :)

You mean like, edit, yes many, avid, premier, i movie, fcp, windows movie maker?

You want re-edit feature films? to what end? You'll need to either rip a dvd, or load in a copy off vhs through a video capture card and then you can edit to your hearts content.

"Is there a piece of software I can edit a movie on"? How do you think they get edited in the first place? Film elves?

    He he....

Papa Smut, you'll find it hard to edit the end of films, as you'll have no cut-aways etc, so it'll be very rough. Why do you want to re-edit the end of the films? Why not get your own footage in and work with that?
