The usual 70 or so players showed up at the southcourt tonight. I lost a few pots early on, one to some guy who limped UTG with Q8o. Flopped 2 pair called two bets from me then checked a perfectly innocent river with top 2 against my top pair. NH WP! At the 100-200 level I reraised after 2 limpers to 800 with 2 black Aces. Utg then decieded to move all in and turned over QT of diamonds. Flop was all diamonds. NH WP. CHIPS!!!!

Saw **** all after my rebuy and eventually gambled with JT after a raise and a call and made a boat to quadruple up.

With about 3 tables left I was up to about 15K with blinds 400/800. 3 players limed in and the cutoff raise to 3000. I looked down at JJ in the SB. I spent about a minute trying to get a read off the raiser and eventually decided there was no way he had QQ-AA and I pushed. He calls me without much thought and shows AT. NH WP. This time I double through.

When it was down to 2 tables blinds are 1500-3000. I have 42000. chip leader limps in and I make it 8000 with AK of diamonds. Folded back to him and he calls. Flop is JTT and he bets 10K. I have no choice but to fold. He shows A8. WTF? Oh its on now bitch!! Who the **** makes that play?

Managed to get to the final table very shortstacked but took the blinds with several all ins. I was unlucky though to lose with KQ V Q9 which would have put me second in chips. Mr A8 was playing like a ****ing clown and getting away with it. Flop 5-A-6 he came back over the top of a shorty with K8. Shorty had A5 and the assclown hits runner runner for a straight. With blinds 4000/8000 he was raising to 45000. and smooth called a reraise putting 60% of his stack in the pot to see a flop.

On my BB Mr. A8 limped in and I looked down at KTo. I put him on 97/JT/JQ. It's possible he's limping with a weak ace and I should probably have pulled a stop and go but I pushed becasue I badly needed to double. He had JQ and turned a Jack to take me out in 5th which paid €150 cash and a supersat ticket worth €350. 5th should also have given me enough points to be the clear leader on the Munster IPC leaderboard. Rock on.

nice work, that's a good run you've had in those tournies.

I find it quite tough to get into live poker after playing online so much. I think the boredom kicks in a lot faster, patience goes and KQ starts to look like AA...

A pot-sized bet by the chip leader on a scary flop? Maybe I'm wrong, but it's doesn't seem to be that bad a move. He knows that unless you've hit (ergo you have a monster), you can't call. If he does get a call, he knows he's beat. A smaller feeler bet may not force a fold.

Had it happened to me, I would consider myself to have been bullied off a pot by a guy with a bigger stack and balls than me.

Who limps with A8 in EP and calls a big raise? He hadn't a clue what I had. More often than not he's going to walk into a big pair against me there. Given the way he played other hands I think you're giving him far too much vredit.

Based on his other plays, he looks like he's not used to a chip lead, and has loosened up far too much, and generally pisses chips away.

Assuming you or A8AC (Ace Eight Ass-Clown) were not in the blinds on this hand, to call your raise he is being asked to put 5K more into a pot that is 15.5K. In his position, and against an agressive player like yer good self, I might have done the same. It's obvious that he's going to bet on the flop regardless, it just wasn't your hand.

I'd consider gambling with JT with a raise and call in front of you to be a far worse move.

Individual hands aside, it's nice to see cream rise to the top in these tournies. I'd say the €350 Freeze-out super sats will be fun to play. Do you reckon that we might see some big names playing to qualify for the €500K? Limerick is close to Shannon if you were a big gun flying over from across the pond.....

The Macau crew will no doubt travel to the Limerick Supersat, As will the tough Galway contingent: Jude Ainsworth, Derek Murray and others. The Galway Supersat is on Friday week. I'm all over it!!

Dangermouse Derek poses no threat to my skills with 68os. I was gonna sell my ticket (still probably will), but it is tempting to play. Mmmm, freezeout. mmmm proper deep stacked play. I think I might, just for the chance to be called an ass-clown by the biggest moaner on boards.ie/poker.

Beside, with all the HH you post, everybody has you well pegged. :)

Actually I was quite proud last week at being dubbed the biggest whinger in Irish poker. Then when people play with me they can't believe how passive I am and how well I take bad beats. I think they expect me to urinate on the table when my aces get cracked or something. :D

As for people having me pegged you're absolutely right. Everyone knows my range is 47o - AA.
