    Im manufacturing a bed base and i need to make it from Canadian Spruce, the place in town only has Spruce Pine Fir, is that the same or different than Canadian Spruce?

    The spruce -pine -fir description is relative to a group of over 100 different softwood species, including Canadian spruce. They are a combination of similar strength type softwoods.

    As there is no way of identifying the timber available from the supplier. Unless it is stamped Canadian spruce , its doubtful to easily identify it. If the need to use the same timber is only for visual reasons, then you could bring a piece to the supplier, explain it is spruce, and match it visually.Spruces are more commonly known as white deals.
