    spoiler:
Hope i don't spoil this for anyone. But as far as i know all NINE actors have signed up for 2 other movies, whether the movies get made will be another thing. So does this mean Wash and Shepard Book will feature in Whedons future plans? A friend of mine who is a big Whedon fan reckons that whedon loves killing off his lead charactors and ressurecting them at later stages. So do you reckon we will be seeing Book and Wash again? And if so how? We have yet to discover the Shepards past! Will he resurrect? Will it be in a flash back? Do we meet Washs Twin? Will they discover a parrell universe and find Wash there? Who knows, what do you think? Or have you heard anything?

The second spoiler tag needs to look like this [/spoiler]

    Joss has already said
that it won't be a cheesy twin thing. And this 'verse isn't supernatural in the slightest, so I don't think there'll be a ressurrection. Joss wouldn't do that, anyway, as it would be.. quite frankly, really tacky. :p

Alternate universe is unlikely do to generally realistic feel to the series and movie so far

did that need to be in tags?, i'm unsure

Wonder would a Wash AI be out of the equation. IMO, most of his greatness could be preserved through an AI that made wisecracks and autopiloted Serenity.

I'm going to have to go with flashbacks my-self.

    A third vote for flashbacks.

It's a really heavy handed way of doing it but I can't see him bringing them back to life, even as AIs.

Lets not forget dream sequences. It's all about the dream sequences.

    Yup, flashbacks.

    And evil twins.

And robots. Possibly sex-robots. Or not. There could be cooking too. Whatever.

A Wash-sex-bot? Interesting.. I can see it happening!

I can't see how he'll bring them back but he has too some how! Can't see how dreams or flash backs would work in a 2hr movie, but maybe if theres another series! Didn't Whedon kill off Buffy and bring her back? Spike and Angel too? I know Wash and The Shepard are just human, Well Wash is anyway, but i just know some how they'll be back! Could we see Wash With a H on his Forehead?

You could have River going nuts again because she has some of Shepards's and Wash's memories in her head... if that's the case then dream sequences gets my vote... or something along the lines of the Search for Spock...

But the difference is that 'Firefly' and 'Serenity' have no supernatural elements. Well, apart from River being psychic. But in the commentary to 'Objects in Space', Joss said that her being psychic was as far as he'd go.

What if the sequel was a prequel? That would work.

Would work. But I think Joss said somewhere that he wasn't interested in moving backwards, into the past, only forward.

Also, you've got to think about the
two actors involved. I've heard that Ron Glass didn't want to be hugely involved bacause of health issues. And Alan Tudyk is getting a lot of films, so although they may be in the films it might just be for cameo-type appearances.

EDITED because the n and the b keys are too close together and I am incapable of rereading before hitting submitting. Yes, it is a flaw...

Don't mean to kill any hopes, I want Wash back, but maybe this was just announced to cover up the deaths and keep the shock. Still the flashbacks sound plausible and I pondered the AI thing myself but it has become a bit standard in Sci-Fi.
