Firewall Needed? Dell 2650 Conflict with SP2

    Hey all,

Just wondering if you all think I need an extra firewall now that Ive got broadband sorted.

I use a Dell 2650 and the last time I installed SP2 I ended up losing all my data. Theres a conflict between this type of laptop and SP2 seemingly.

Im using Sp1 with all of the other updates, with Windows firewall on.
Should I be using ZoneAlarm or something like that??

It seems good, but theres a really annoying flashing little display in the system tray.... It could drive me mental!

I would recommend you the Agnitum Outpost firewall. Thats really great.

ZoneAlarm is excellent, and the standard edition is free.
As for the flashing icon, you can always auto-hide the toolbar.
It's a standard part of my pc toolkit for any PC's I set up.

    regards,
    Owen

    Cheers Owen,
How do I auto hide the toolbar without hiding the whole task bar?
