Sun roof re-sealing

Just looking for a rough estimate. How much should I expect to pay to get the sunroof on a Hyundai Accent re sealed. At the moment when there is heavy rain there is a leak over the passenger seat. Not a huge one, but if there's a few days of solid rain the chair can end up pretty wet.

    Thanks in Advance

From a fiver if someone runs a bead of silicone around it to two hundred if you leave it with a dealer to replace the seal. Phone an independant windscreen place and ask them how much to replace the seal.

Check to see if you can see where the water is getting in - often sunroofs leak but the trays underneath carry water down drains at the front and rear, it is possible the drain tubes are blocked/kinked. On certain cars (Honda Accord etc.) the tubes block and cause water to leak into the car but pushing a wire through the tube unblocks them easily.

Don't use silikone, anyway. That never bonds properly. It has to be special bodywork adhesive like sikaflex.

If it is one of those comparatively cheapo pop-up sunroofs (aftermarket) ..some of those might never seal properly, because the glass has the wrong curvature. The only way to get them "fixed" is to rip it out and install a bigger one (properly) :D:D

Also have the paint work checked around where the seal joins the body work as rust could have formed there causing the seal to break. Usually this would be in the form of paint bubbling up. It is quite common for rust to form here especially if it is an aftermarket sunroof as water can lodge there if it is not sealed properly from day one.
