Excel question

    I reckon there's a nice way to do this in excel that would save me hours of effort

    I have a data set

    x1, x2, x2, x4, x5
    y1_1, y1_2, y1_3, y1_4, y1_5
    y2_1, y2_2, y2_3, y2_4, y2_5
    .....
    .....
    .....
    y83_1, etc. etc.

    I can graph x against any of the y sets, then get the graph to work out and display a nice polynomial curve (plus formula....the important part). All of my y values follow some kind of 2nd order polynomial fit.

    What I'd like is to just extract the polynomial formula for each y v's x set.

    The TREND() method allows you to do polynomial fits for single data points or ranges (can't quite figure out how to do this, though I'm sure it would be a useful start), but what I'd like is the formula.

    Anyone?

    I actually opened up Excel yesterday to have a look

    "Ah sure it can't be THAT hard"

    I closed it again after a brief excursion with TREND() and swore never to return :)
