Just back from foreign parts where when you order a salad, they put oil and vinegar dispensers on the table. I know the oil is olive but anybody know what type vinegar is in the vinegar dispenser?

I know it's usually Balsalmic in Italy, not sure what it's called elsewhere, but is basically wine vinegar.
If you're looking to re-create it at home, get some balsalmic vinegar from the supermarket and that will do the trick.

Either balsamic vinegar (if it's very dark, almost black) or ordinary white wine vinegar (if it's much lighter, well, white wine coloured, really).
