"Ewwwww Pighead you're wearing odd socks ya big ninny".
Thats what Le Rack yelped at me yesterday.I couldn't believe it
To be honest I find anyone who really cares if their socks match to have some kind of mental disorder, no-one can even see them for godness sake.Relax Le Rack, they're only socks.
I tend to buy only black socks so it doesn particularly matter if theymatch or not. What I will say is a big sock no no is the wearing of them during lovemaking.Lads lose the socks, its not sexy.I know when girls leave them on it looks kind of hot but they're different, something to do with having softer skin I think.
Anyway whats your sock no-no's or eh yes-yes's

lol... Pighead, I'm new here, but I've seen your threads across the board. Very entertaining... haha. ;)

As for me, I mostly wear white socks, sometimes black ones. I've been told I have "weird socks" because they might have a design on them or something, but I don't particularly care. I mean, yeah, they're just socks.. haha.

A big "no no" for me is to wear socks that don't match the rest of my outfit. I remember someone commenting on these bright pink socks I was wearing when I was in middle school... never wore them again... lol

You're right NoDayBut2Day, don't let the feckers dictate what socks you're gonna wear.To be honest i'm not a hundred per cent happy about you admitting wearing white socks but its a minor issue and as long as you promise not to wear them with sandals then everythings cool with Pighead.

Wearing odd socks is totally acceptable.

    Sure who cares?

Then again, I wear bootcut jeans most of the time (outside the house) so who'd actually know? :)

I wear fluffy socks from Penney's.

They truly are the socks of the Gods.

Generally colour doesnt really matter all that much, thickness on the other hand does... i cant wear an old sock with a new one... or blue socks for an altogether other matter.

I only wear black socks, so I scarcely have this problem :p Gotta love black socks...!

When I take my socks off they get turned inside out. Then I have to turn them rightside in before washing or wearing. It's a task that takes up an inordinate amount of my time.

Wouldn't it be great to have a pair of socks that looked and felt exactly the same regardless of being inside out or rightside out?
Honestly I am convinced my poor punctuality is 79% related to the fact socks don't feel the same on both sides

Why is it that one sock always goes missing?

You just need to perfect the art of removing socks and not turning them inside out. :D

    There are 2 basic methods:

Method A involves pulling the sock from the toe, can be troublesome but is more rewarding when pulled off ;)

Method B involves hooking the thumb in side the top of the sock and pushing the elastic over the heel, method A can now be easily executed.

Odd socks don't bother me colour wise, I'll happily wear one black and one grey sock (the only 2 colours i have). As to thickness of sock i've got one foot slightly bigger than the other so diferent thickness socks can actually be advantageous.

The one thing I cannot stand is when you get down to the emergency socks (a close relative of the emergency pants) and there's a hole at the big toe! When this happens the buggers have to be turned inside out so the holes at the little toe :)

white socks are just wrong, and whats the story with socks that leave your feet with 10 tonne of fluff,

I don't think I've worn the same coloured socks for over a year and the weird thing about it is that everywhere i go people somehow get a view.

my socks never match i can never find a matching pair so Ive given up...people expect them not to match now its gotten to the point that they comment if they do!

Alternatively wear the socks on the other feet... then no need to turn them inside out and have to suffer uncomfortable feeling of the seams at the toe being inside out.
    I'M A GENIUS!

Where do people stand on the 'holes in socks' issue?

All my socks seem to develop holes within moments of wearing them. There is a hole around the big toe on my right foot right now.

On the whole "hole in the socks thing" I think I just end up buyin new pairs. I haven't ended up on my emergency socks in years.

You are not alone joejoem. There must be a market out there for all those single socks hiding under right under foot.

There are a few easy and fun things that can be done. Here are a few:

    * Buy socks in the same style and color so that if one goes missing you can substitute with another one. This also helps when those nagging "toe and heal" holes start. It's easier to get yourself to throw away a single sock if you know there is another one to take its place.

    * Buy drawer dividers (they come in a lot of styles and sizes) that will keep pairs together and separated. If you dig through a drawer searching for a single sock you are likely to misplace another one.

    * Always match pairs of socks before putting them away. They can be rolled together at the top, or just lay them together and fold once.

    * Buy cloths pins and pin each pair together when putting them away and when you put them in the laundry. Make this fun by using colored clothespins, or paint the wooden ones the color of the socks. Even go as far as painting a similar design of the socks on the pins. Even the smallest child loves to play matching games.

there was a phase i went thru with ownin bout 15 pairs of knee high socks from penneys :)

God,my socks rarely match! I never know who's socks I have on either.
I just wear whatever random socks I find around the house.

I HATE when one sock falls down and the other stays up. Loose socks in general really piss me off. I hate the way they end up halfway down your foot and you end up practically walking on them!

it doesnt really matter whether your socks match or not,i'd be more concerned with why people are looking at your feet :D

but i agree about not wearing socks with sandals :p

I'd have new socks every day if I were a multeye millionaire.

Actually, I say that, but I could easily afford the euro or so a day that sort of lifestyle would cost me and yet I persist in washing them, losing the odd one and having them shrink - NOTHING worse than too-tight socks.

    # Change your socks every day, especially when it's warm. Washing your socks kills the fungus that causes nail infections.
    # Wear cotton, silk or wool socks rather than synthetic (nylon) ones. Synthetic fabrics tend to make your feet sweat more.
And last but definitely not least NEVER BORROW YOUR MATES SHOES.Never!I don't care how nice they are,how stylish they look or how much you want to.JUST DON"T DO IT.
    Talk to ya soon buddy

Couldn't agree more with ya on that one.How do they get like that?!They didn't do that when I first got them :( and you've to pull them up every like 2 minutes of walking, or you have to walk on a half rolled down sock(which is crap).
    I hate it so much.

If you mean do I change them every day, then yes, but I don't destroy them as soon as I take them off. It'd be great though, having that new sock feeling every morning.
