im looking for something... i bought the psp... but my dad saw it and now he wants 1.. only not a gaming console.. he wants something like a pda, that he acn access e-mails, i.e, and play dvd's either by dvd or umd, while abroad... price is not an issue... well... under 1400 preferably... anyways, anyone who knows of such…

im looking for something...

i bought the psp...
but my dad saw it and now he wants 1..

price is not an issue...
well... under 1400 preferably...

anyways, anyone who knows of such a device, plz let me know!
oh and preferably it can be connected to a laptop or a p.c aswell...

Might get a better response here.

AFAIK, PSP is the only device that currently handles UMD, and there isn't a PDA-style device that will play a DVD. Youy can get software to transfer DVDs to PDA-compatible (resolution, file size, etc) formats though...

even a really small laptop or something on those lines. dont have to play umd etc...
maybe good if it playd dvd's...

IIRC, you can get a keyboard for the PSP, so you can browse the net with it.

I've got the model that just plays videos/music, and it's by far the best gadget I've ever bought. This has lots more thrown in for good measure, like built in wifi.

I have the PMA430. It's basically a PDA with a 30GB hard drive. Has built it Wifi with an opera browser. Great little unit. Can be a little tricky with DivX formats but once you know what resolution and audio settings to use your all set. Cannot recommend it enough tbh.
