    Hello
its a long story but i think i have a virus on my computer called W32.Netsky@mm but am not sure, i have ran numerous amounts of scans with norton antivurs 2005, updated it, and it hasnt detected a thing while i went to a website with trend micro housecall full security scan but when i scanned it got to 100% but never gave the summary as it did not lad, it just kept reloading the same page that was on which was the 100% scan and it stated that i had 1 infection underneath the progress bar, but did they just states this and not load up the summary page to make me pay a subscription fee to see it, or is it supposed to show the summary, i am worried as norton hasnt detected anything at all and i have restarted computer and shut down computer once and its fine, but i cant help worrying

is there anything i should do or ?? would it be ok if i just leave it as its running fine now( the computer )

    Try Panda ActiveScan

Then try a scan with Spybot, Ad-Aware and finally, AVG.

If it's still there, download HijackThis and post us up a log!

PS - try all above except for online scan in safe mode!

Here you go, try the Symantec W32.Netsky Removal Tool

"W32.Netsky@mm is a mass-mailing worm that uses its own SMTP engine to send itself to the email addresses it finds when scanning the hard drives and mapped drives. This worm also searches drives C through Z for the folder names containing "Share" or "Sharing," and then copies itself to those folders."

    Theres the technical jargon...

Its better if its not there. The symantic removal tool that was given earlier should work. i think Symantic is the company that produces Norton Anti Virus...

ok, but what do you think, is it there? as i have norton antivirus and it didnt detect it, and if i have a shared folder with stuff in it, would the virus be gone from there using the removal tool? used panda scan, but dammit!!! after the whole thing was done needed macromdia dreamweaver so epend it up and loads of encrypted stuff came up:( what now any other scanners that are good and free:)

also if i do use this removal tool, it wont do any harm to comp right? ugghhhh i hate viruses

the virus should be removed if you follow the instructions that come with the virus removal tool yes. I dont think it'll harm your computer :)

Download Spybot-Search and Destroy and AVG free edition and you should be sorted.

The Symantec remove tool will run even if u don't have the virus. If you have the virus it will remove it. If you don't then it will say you are clean.

Is your copy of Norton Anti Virus up to date with its virus defintions?

Ok downloaded and ran AVG free edtion and spy bot search and destroy, and i got results as follows:

AVG free edition - no virus found
Spy bot earch and destroy - no immediate threat found

so if i got no virus detection on thses and norton antivirus 2005 fully updated then does this mean that there is none?
As i keep worrying as i just ran the removal tool once without using instructions and cant help thinking that i saw when the tool was finished that it said i dont have the virus or that i do lol

is there any reason for me to worry or after the scans i did should i be ok? o and also i updated avg priority updates, but have just updated it all except for the otpional update and am scanning again

    please post:)
