How useful would these compasses be ?

    I have a nice digital compass that I bought specifially for lining up dishes. Unfortunatley, due to the large anmount of metal in the dish and bracket, it never seems to work correctly :(

    Even a toy compass is as much use as an expensive one...

    Magnetic variation is enough to put you two satellites out. Also local dish, oil tanks, gas tanks etc.

    It helps for general direction then you need to check level, quality, channels etc.
