Hodges Figgis have two copies of this in the thriller section.
well worth a read. the movie should be coming out on dvd soon with Norman Jewisons commentary.

also HMV have 4 of Bogie's movie's in a boxset for 19.99 on the stairs.
Casablanca, the Big Sleep, Key Largo and To have and Have not.

now dont go deleting this post because if u can't see what Bogie has to do with poker than i can't tell u baby.

    cheers and gl, d.

god remember that outreagous hand in The Cincinnati Kid?

Q high straight flush beats a house A's over T's (or T's over.. cant remember) in a game of 5 stud!

The guy drawing to the straight flush must fold in the overwhelming odds facing him as he sees the A's/T's the other guy has. The Q high requires a T aswel making it even less likely... what a stupid hand!

yes, i hear you but it's still a beautiful sad book and a beautiful, slightly less sad movie.

Richard Jessup didnt write much more as far as i know but he sure the underground card scene.

The reprint is published by No Exit Press who are a miracle making press in the Uk. The publish out of print thrillers and American crime books, guys like Jim Thompson and other 50's writers. Really a great publishers.

i just looked up their website www.noexit.co.uk and see that they are reprinting Jesse May's 'Shut Up and Deal' which is a weird feverish but entertaining poker novel. Its semiautobiographical.
