Smurph dealt this in the Fitz today.

9 Player table, 5 Pocket Pairs dealt. 44, 77, 99, KK and AA

What are the odds? I wouldn't know how to compute it.

Same thing happened once on a table I was on. Think it was the sunday or wednesday rebuy in the fitz. I had 44, someone folded 55, others played with 77, 10,10 and KK.

It was first of the last 3 hands so that might account with for the looseness. I hit a 4 on the flop to dog the lot of them. Nice.

Maddest thing was, the usual 'last 3 hands for rebuys' call that made the chaos, but turned into the regular farce that is the clock being wrong, so that turned into 'last 3 hands for entries' which would have made my 44 fold anyhow. Not that I get too wound up about these 20 rebuys anyhow.........

    did the Aces hold up...?

yeah that was funny the aces did actually hold up. i think the original raiser folded pocket nines which would've made a set.

Over in London I had QQ with KK JJ and AA out. Luckily I was in late position so tossing the queens after a raise and two all ins wasn't too tough. First card out on the flop was a queen followed by a sweet sweet A on the river!

I had 33 in the Fitz before, flop of 653 after a bet from 1st position and a raise from Bertie it was an easy laydown, Bertie had 66 original bettor 55

Good fold, don't think I've ever laid down a set on the flop, maybe if there was a flush out.

    Was this in the shootout?

how did you get on culchie?

I got muck for about two hours, and out of boredom had a nasty accident with a small pocket pair.

went up to the free roll afterwards, i don't think i'll bother with it anymore, I know it's a bit of fun and people take the mick, but the messing going on there today it's just pointless playing in it.

"all in on the blind" "hee hee your cool man, me too" great. ;)

Yup, no joy, had Kinaldo, The Snapper and Smurph at table. Got absolute garbage for an hour, and I mean garbage, but was making a little progress when down to last 5 on our table (all boardsters still there), had my Aces cracked by The Snappers set of 4's.

Won the Freeroll though, so finished in profit for the evening which I suppose is the main thing.

What time did the €30 finish at, was down to about 5 at around 9.30pm (5 hours)..... long game (good game) !

I was knocked out 4th at the table, went out after being shortstacked for good half an hour. Ad9d unfortunately ran into AhJh and that was that. Extremely enjoyable tournament. You certainly get alot of play for your €30, and i would certainly go back (well done Oscar). Yeah certainly be a long time before I deal 5 Pocket Pairs dealt. 44, 77, 99, KK and AA (I dealt myself the 77's). Then there was the sorting the pots and the sweat was pumping off me. Felt sorry for the guy who put down the pocket 99's when a 9 turned up on the board, but he made the right decision. Played the freeroll, could not get going at that at all. Then played the main game, but my concentration wasn't with it. At the break of the main game, sat down and played 2 hands of mythical, won €90 euro, which made me a profit of €10 on night. Was going to play the cash game but i knew I was tired so I went home instead. Reckon if I was dealing the cash games in the Fitz the bad beat would have been won along time ago. Anyway good luck one and all if playing during the week. Might see you the weekend.

Very unlucky there Culchie, and you had been very patient up to that point too.
The hand (AA v 44) does illustrate the value of small pockets though. I had position and luckily hit my set, with nothing obvious on the board I dont know how you can get away from this. On the other hand if the 44 hand misses its an easy fold.
Well done in the freeroll though and it was nice to put a face to another boardster.

sounds like everyone on our table got something back except me....

knocked out in 9th (outkicked with AQ by The Snapper's AK on an A high flop), then dealt the rest of the final table. Only 6 were meant to get payed, as soon as I go they agree to 8 getting paid. Over an hour later I'm still dealing, top 2 split it €410 each. No mention of a tip. :(

The format for Monday is a standard 20 minute level freezeout. 4000 starting chips for your €110. Crowds in the last while have dipped and about 50 is the average the last month, but it is usually a decent tournament.
