Just built a new pc ( with thanks to all who helped me on the computer forum :P ) Tis running great but now i want to stock up on a few pc titles ive missed.

I loved the first age of empires and am definetly thinking of getting Age of empires 3 but can anyone give me a release date for it? thanks.

Also Rome total war is a game i heard is absolute class and i loved the shogun series but what exactly is Rome total war and whats Barbarian invasion?

To play barbarian invasion do you need to have total war already installed or is it just a few extra maps etc? Basically what im trying to say is that which should i go for Rome Total War or Barbarian invasion thanks

ps. I was in my local smyths today to get one of them and i saw barbarian invasion there with a coming soon sticker on it, but i thought it was already out on the 30th of sept??

RTW is what you need first of all either way as Barbarian Invasion is just an expansion. BI patches RTW up to 1.3 which is the latest patch, but you dont need BI to either patch the game, or enjoy it as RTW has tons of gameplay in it as it stands. BI is already out, try Game on henry street. Thats where I got mine, 30 Euro.

A popular mod for RTW (wont work with BI, you need a seperate installation which isnt a big deal with the size of most harddrives) is www.rometotalrealism.org. Basically adds factions, troop types, adds new mechanics like Areas of Recruitment and so on and so forth. But as I said theres plenty in RTW to start off with so no need to rush.

Rome Total War: Like Shogun Total War, except with Romans, much nicer graphics, and tons more features.

Barbian Invasion: Expansion pack to Rome. Set 300-odd years after Rome Total War, during the collapse of the empire.

Rome Total War is GREAT!!! Even for a beginner like me it was accessible and immersive

Id recommend Rome Total Realism, adds a lot more cities to the map, and adds literally hundreds of new troops, particularly mercenaries, where before a region had maybe 3 or 4 mercinaries in it, now some regions have over 8 diffrent mercinaries types, some of them most definately worth getting. Havent played Barbarian Invasion, and to be perfectly honest I cant see it adding more to the game than RTR has, and its free.
