    in my life!!

    Another couple of records smashed!!

Im hearing that Hurricane Status has been confirmed :D

Yea i think it all came up quite suddenly although there was
some activity being watched in this area over the last few days ;)

actually it done the same thing that Tammy did, turned from non-tropical to tropical. the NHC don't issue advisories for non tropical depressions. so once it started developing tropical storm status they skipped the TD 23 title and went straight for Tropical Storm Vince.

the title has changed on the NHC site but the advisory has not. I wonder will they follow it or will they just suddenly stop following it when it leaves their normal coverage area

If its headed ne does that mean its heading somewhat in our direction?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,811 ✭✭✭✭billy the squid

I would believe that it will dissappear as quickly as it appeared. if it does manage to make landfall anywhere it will most likely be portugal.

The location of where it formed is probably the most interesting aspect of this storm though.

Vince dissapating almost as quickly as it formed.

one thing that I did notice though, with a hurricane off the coast of the iberian peninsula, you would have thought that they would ahve issued at least one advisory in espaniol.

If you load this animation ,It will show you what happened, the race into Gibralter and the merger with growing thunderstorms from morocco and elswhere in portugal and spain.

The eye didnt last long but I'd imagine there was a very welcome deluge in the parched south of spain

Very fast moving in the end and the first ever tropical storm/ex hurricane to move into spain.
