I've been trying to watch the Fencing World Championships that are going on at the moment on my Sky subscription, but unfortunately Eurosport UK doesn't carry the competition, whereas the continental version of the channel has a good 2 hours a day dedicated to the event. Has anyone had any luck getting the International flavour of Eurosport tuned in on an Irish box? If so, I would much appreciate any help that you might want to give me.

That version of Eurosport is not available on the satellite which has Sky Digital (Astra 2, 28.2º E. It is available on other satellites across Europe, such as Astra 1, 19º E, but you cannot tune into these with a normal domestic Sky setup. :(

Damn, pretty much what I was dreading (I'd checked kingofsat.com, but the only listing on Astra2 came up with Eurosport UK). I'll have to take out my vengeance on Eurosport UK's programme planners (Snooker isn't a sport, damnit, it's a game), the uncultured swines.

with an analogue stb it can be picked up on Astra 1 in English
and in German with a Sky Digibox, again from Astra 1

I'm afraid I have no great desire to reposition either of my LMBs to pick up a single extra channel variation, so Astra1 isn't of much use to me (that's 19.2E, right?). Thanks for the help, though.

If you very keen on sport consider 80cm Dish, FTA receiver and Moteck motor. You will get sport FTA on about 17 or 18 Satellite positions. Often on Sunday night USA sport on Feeds too.

Total once off cost under 300 Euro. See www.maplin.co.uk and www.satellite.ie

With patience and advice from this forum you can DIY install.
