Is Star Trek a Pre-Requisite?

    To be a nerd?

Basically i would slide straight into any "i am a nerd" box except i hate star trek! I actually look at an episode of it and laugh. I feel almost normal when watching and just think its a program for loosers yet i am so indulged in SG1 or even first wave.

Am i in limbo? Not a nerd, yet not normal?

I thought it was in the Boards.ie Terms and Conditions that you had to be a nerd of some kind to post here.

That was what I meant with my point about people in glass houses not throwing stones! You have to be some kind of nerd to actually be reading this IMO.

Well, have you watched TNG? Can you seriously say it's not one of the best TV series ever made? I am amazed if that is so.

Hehe, reminds me of Patrick Stewart to David Brent in Extras: "make it so!.... (silence) ... Have you seen Star Trek The Next Generation?" :D

    TNG rocks.

    Except for Wesley.

But then, everything needs it's flaw. :)

If you doubt your nerdiness, you have not yet reached full nerd. Only when you need no longer question what it takes to be a nerd, can you call yourself nerd.

Entertaining sometimes? Yes. One of the best TV series ever made? No. Not on your Nellie.

I wouldn't classify everyone who watches Star Trek as a nerd. Why is it seen as non nerdish to say you love the T.V show Lost, to endlessly discuss it with your mates/colleagues/on boards, but to watch Star Trek is nerdish? (BTW, I don't watch Star Trek because I don't think it's any good).

I think anyone who obsesses over any T.V show is a bit Nerdy, not that there's anything wrong with being a nerd anyway, I'd rather be called a nerd than a jock/airhead.

I know some non-nerds who love star trek. I know some nerds who hate it, and obviously I know some nerds who love that ****.

So yes, you are a nerd.
