    Hey,
I got a eircom sales man at me door the other day givin me a "special" package where i getr free unlimited natinal and local calls for 40 a month. howeve, the first month is free, so wat im gonna do is get the thing for the month then cancel, but the only reason im gettin it is coz ill need the internet for college in my student house for this month and it seems the perfect solution. the problem is, i need an ISP that gives FREE dial up without any contracts or anything.

    anybody got any ideas?

eircom does free dial up with some 1892 number and i dont think that counts as national or local so i may be charged for it.

are u saying IOL do free dial up?

AFAIK, All internet dial-ups were changed to be prefixed with 1892, so your plan doesn't really work (been there myself)

    ah,you want local/national numbers (i.e. non-189x..) for DUN?
    Where are you based?

My landline is on a package that gives the first hour of our calls free. Then I found an ISP that gives a local dial-up number which gives me the first hour of my internet access completly free, all I have to do is disconnect and reconnect every hour and it stays free.

is it free to sign up to that ISP?

I think you need a geographical number i.e 04X XXXXXX or 01 XXXXXXX, i have a few of those that O2 own, so that would mean free internet. i can PM it to anyone that wants it.
