You still have time to get to Sir Henrys nightclub, its Freakscene tonight.
Henrys is in South Main Street. Ask anyone where Sir Henrys is.

Theres a lapdance a block down the street and to the left. If thats the club u want.

henrys, or the savoy, you've gotten the directions already :D

Oh yeah, avoid all things wearing hoop ear rings.... it's not worth the hassle imo.

Sir Henrys = A complete Kip imho.

There wasnt one piece of furnature in the entire place, I've seen swiming pools that had better decor and the cage around one of the bars was a bit suspect. Also the fact that the night I was there there was NO coloured lights at all anywhere.

For me Henry's only redeeming feature may be the music policy as they dont play chart music there. That said on the night in question, that I was there, the music was at best described as pants.

Maybe it was because it was a thursday night and its usually alot better at the weekends, I dunno. Although after the night I had there it will be a while before I go back.

Music wise Henrys is the best depending on what night you go for.

I go on a Wedn and Fri night.
http://www.freakscene.com tells you more about Wednesday nights. Great great music. Even get to mosh a bit if you like.

Henrys has a varied mixture depending on the night. Theres also 3 or 4 different areas of the place with diff music.

Henrys is filthy and has no furniture, its all about music and drinking, no real comforts. If u are looking for a nightclub with plushy seating this is in no way for you.

Shadow what kinda thing u looking for in a Cork nightclub ?

The scary thing is it is actually cleaner than it used to be!!

Same thing I look for in any nightclub :)

    1) Good music (House music of just about any sort, altho the stuff they were playing in the main area the time I was there sucked. I'm still trying to figure out how that is possible considering I like just about every type that there is!),

    2) Good crowd. Some nice looking wimmin etc etc..

    3) Some sort of an attempt at decorating the place. It doesnt have to look like a palace but somewhere to sit when you are tired of dancing would be nice. Preferably somewhere that isnt the ground.

tbh I think the reason that I have such a low opinion of Henrys is because I was expecting it to be "the best club in Cork".

Then it turns out to be the worst club I have ever been in. Like I said if the music was really banging there on a certain night and they had really good "up and coming" DJ's playing regularly then I would probably revise my opinion.

I will go back but only because I want to find out why ppl were praising it the way they did when from a asthetic point of view, it looks and feels worse than a recalled lada.

was in gorbo's last thurs and some pub with a dj firing drinks all out at ppl . dono the name of it . where else is good that is kinda bigger and better music

Hmmm... a club better than gorbys eh?? Well thats a toughie.....

Henrys is pretty good, but basically if you're hung up on clothes, decor, and the "in-ness" of a spot, you ain't going to like it. If you are like that try the savoy. Henry's is only worth going to for the class music, or the interesting goth types that attend :D

Ugggh henrys... just don't wear anything white if you're going to go. Fu*king kip if you ask me.

Half Moon Club is fairly good, got really quiet after the Savoy opened up but now the Savoy is dead and the Half Moons picking up again. They're both pretty much the same if you ask me, gorgeous women, good tunes, big place with a couple of rooms.

Don't go to Mangans if you're too drunk, I know a guy that almost broke his nose after walking into one of the mirrors (i.e. the walls).

    Gorbys: only if you're 14.

There are a couple of places that are all pretty much the exact same, chart music, alright women, one room:
Redz, Bar Rumba and Reardens. I can never actually tell which one I'm in. Of course I'd be very very drunk at the time :)

If you see a tracksuit in the queue, move on.

Done it. Not a very nice experience. That mirror on the first floor where the bar curves around is a deathtrap!!
