first off..sorry if this is in the wrong place (can a mod move it if it is?)

I usually get the dart around 8 am every day....i have yet to see an 8 carraige dart at this time....can anybody tell me if they have seen one?? I think its all a scam by the DART boyos tbh.

Also..anybody seen their new posters advertising now being able to carry twice as many passengers during peak times? dont see how having 2 extra carraiges on a train of 6 carraiges adds up to twice as many...maybe 33% more!

There are up to 5 8 coach DARTs in service currently out of a need of 18 sets which is about as far as the fleet can stretch

The 50% increase is measured from August 2000 when the first 'new' DART units entered service at that time the fleet stood at 80 it now stands at 154, the newer ones of course can carry a lot more people about 25 more a coach which is significant

There currently are 20 coaches away in Prague for refurbishment works and there will be 12-18 coaches there until December 2006, this was timed to commence after the most recent batch of 40 coaches from Japan had entered service as to maintain full service and make all trains at least 6 coaches while releasing stock for much needed refurbishment

This time last year there still were 4 coach DARTs in the rush hour

I've seen a few 8 carriage DARTs, they do exsist.

I was waiting for the last DART to Bray a few months ago. What rolled in? A 2 carriage DART :) Couldn't belive it, it looked quite funny.

I live in Belfast beside the main Belfast-Lisburn line that also goes to Dublin, and they run 3 carraige trains - which is madness! And they have conductors too!

And they make lots of noise to boot, how a 3 carraige diesel railbus can be so much nosier than an accelerating CIE intercity is beyond me.

Those rail cars, are they the 5 seat wide ones ?
if so look at the wear on the seat covers
The windows seats are most worn, then the asile side of the three seat side.
Then the asile seat of the two seats fills next and finally it's the middle seat.

I think that makes you king of the trainspotters! A truly sad level of observation :D
