    Hi there,

Is sonicstage required to transfer MP3's to any of their players? (The NW-E407B really)

Or can you just drag and drop folders etc?

    Thanks

You definately have to use the SonicStage software to put music onto the player.

it is very different back then compare to now..
surprisingly sony has changed a little to suit consumer..
thanks to apple for making sony not as arrogant..

    I have the 407 also..
The new sonicstage is just point the location of the file..
and it then just drag and drop..

Where as the old minidisc with sonicstage need you to convert to atract first before you can transfer..
    so it's handier now

Can you use the free space on the Sony players like a "removable drive" in Windows for storing other files, like with the iPod?

Yes, it can store any data and will show up as a removable drive in Windows
