Microphone Problems

    Hello,

Having problems getting the headset mic working on the pc.
It is in the right connection, and I know the microphone itself works.

When I go to sound recorder and press record, I am unable communicate through the microphone.

When I press record and hammer a few keys, these sounds can be recorded(Without the microphone plugged in). I have also heard someone say they can hear me pressing keys, so perhaps there is an onboard mic.

Is there anyway to turn this off?

    Thanks for any help recieved..

    Brian
