Does anyone know roughly how much a new car distributor for a Lancer (or any car) should cost????

Getting one tomorow and don't want to get robbed!! Thanks

that depends where you getting one from, from a scrap yard should be around 50 or so, most places usually try to rob everyone on this one, not sure why! a scrap yard a friend of mine went to once, they wanted nearly 200 for a distributor for his prelude 2.2vtec, and it is cracked, they told him he can use the inside of it with his own casing, he didnt buy it, I repaired his for 50 the day after.

Im getting charged 400 hundred for a brand new one fitted and all, the person thats doing it reckons he has to collect it in the north so he;s charging me for petrol as well it still sounds very expensive

for a lancer? why dont you find out from the dealer first? thats like dealer price you get that done anywhere in the south with warranty

The fella that is doin it works for mitsubishi but he's a friend of a friend so hes doin it on the weekend, he reckons they retail for 550 Euro probably talking **** though!!

honda retails them for 400 plus vat dunno about mitsy, but even if its 550, would you get one from him for almost 500 after paying for his petrol and the distributor or from the dealer for 550 with warranty? also there's a place up in the north call traynors, they are dismantler, and I bough a distributor of them for 60 euro delivered to me, it looks almost new, with a new cap put on you would think it was second hand, find out where he is getting it from and get receipt or else go to main dealer or get it yourself from a dismantler
