    Hi Folks,
I think I suffer from a form of anaemia - but I usually have high iron - content diet. Apart from Vitamin b12 (needed to absorb Iron into the body) - what other factors could be affecting this?

    Cheers
    S.

P.S. Mods, if this isn't the correct fourm, please move it to a more appropriate one. Cheers.

Hey sinecurea, I'll copy this thread to biology so they can help you out a bit more with the physiological side. The most important thing however, is to GO TO THE DOCTOR! Really. It is very important to go get your bloods checked. Boards cannot give you any medical advice, you really have to go see a professional.

If you do have anaemia, post again here and i'm sure people will give you advice/support.

Vit C also helps in absorbing Iron. So when you are eating your iron rich food drink a glass of orange juice with it. Eat plenty of broccoli and steak.

    Shabadu,
I know about the no medical stuff. I'm not looking for a prescription, just information or similiar experiences. I think I'm going to look into taking more Vit C though.

    Cheers,
    S.

You need to be evaluated by a medical professional - and that with blood tests are the only way of getting to the bottom of it.

The key nutrients are folic acid, iron and B12 - but then the complexities arise as to why you are deficient and that is where a doctor will treat or refer you.
