Did anyone else see Brendan Benson last night? I kno this is a music forum but oh my god how hot is the keyboard player??!!
Anyway aside from that I thought the gig was deadly, pity about the vocals as we could hardly hear him in parts- stupid sound guy. Insects rule and crosseyed were deadly, also Ok GO! were brilliant the dancing was hilarious and the lads were lovely,
    Great night!

Yeah was there last night and thought he was great. Cold Hands, Warm Heart was the highlight for me. I was surprised at the amount of people there, the downstairs looked full but we were sitting upstairs and had the whole row to ourselves!

Thought OK Go were very good, will pick up their new album whenever I have some spare case I guess. The DANCE was one of the funniest things ever, great way to make the new single stand out from the other songs they played.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart is probably my favourite track from the album, couldn't believe an NME review when it was released as a single giving it a bad review saying it was the weakest track on the album! He tours Ireland again in December.

Yeah, love that track too. He mentioned that he's be touring in December alright, when he said he'd be in Cork he got a huge boooo for some reason. I think it really threw him :)

He'll be made feel a lot more at home in the real capital, we're very cultured down here you know!! Ye are just jealous! Saw at him at Glastonbury, thought he was really good.

Yeah what was with the booing?
Vocals could have done with being turned waaaay up. sound was far better at oxegen. But it was deadly. highlight was when he played my friend's request. and looked right at her, she nearly melted :D
OK Go were excellent, and a real surprise, i had no idea they were supporting. and i was very impressed by the rags. overall a cool night.
the bassist in OK Go rocked. his style was just the best!

Ah, now I know why the mere mention of Cork drew a boo from the dub crowd. ;)

I found it dreadful. I was only at the gig cos the BF likes Mercury Rev for some inexplicable reason and I was SO bored

IIRC it was Witness 2002, and it was a damn good set too. I didn't know any of their stuff and enjoyed it thoroughly - very good stage presence. Not the wildest gig you're ever going to go to, but great to relax to and enjoy some tomatoes

    was there myself.

the dance was the funniest thing i ever saw at a gig ever.

highlight of the show was the last song "you're quiet" but i still think (after seeing brendan twice) that it needs the synth in the backround.

other than that i thought it was a good gig and wasn't surprised by the numbers as his village gig was packed back in april, and vicar street is a much bigger venue.
