"In the City of God there will be a great thunder, two brothers torn apart by chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb.", "The third big war will begin when the big city is burning."
    - Nostradamus

Speculation is abound as to who is the root of all evil. The usual suspects turn up, as one might imagine. The news media is going through extraordinary steps of political correctness to not suggest any one of them is more or less likely to be the mastermind behind it, so as not to offend anyone.

Fcuck that. We all know who is behind it. That tall, skinny, limping fcukhead Osama bin Laden. I know it, you know it, we all know it so let's cut to the fcuking chase.

Some people say this is a time for restraint. I again reiterate my words of wisdom of, Fcuk that. This is NOT a time for restraint. Restraint was yesterday. Today is a time for action. A time for downright coldhearted a$$kicking revenge. A time for retaliation justified ten thousand times. A time for stealth bombers and tomahawk missiles. A time for napalm. This is not a time for politicians to use words like 'dispicable' or 'cowardly'. I want them to use words like, "Yeah we found out who it was, and we kicked their fcuking a$$s." I do not want the American government to give a measured calculated response. Fcuk that. I want them to react in a furious rage blinded by the visions of burned bodies on the streets of an American city and bomb any fcuking person or persons or governments that ever did, does, or ever will coordinate a terrorist attack again on the United States of America. I am not American but I lived there for a while and I know loads of people who live in NY, and almost a year ago to the day I stood on the top of one of the most amazing buildings in the world and looked over the expance of Ney York city...............that building is now a smoking pile of rubble and bodies, I feel sick to my stomach thinking of it !

And to you Osama bin Laden, I tell you this. They may be stunned, They may be angry, They may be shocked, but They are NOT terrified. Americans may grieve today, but they will excercise their right to vote and continue on with their lives. Those were not just innocent people that you killed yesterday, they were Americans. And one day, one day very soon, sombody will slip a knife into your belly and twist it. They will watch as the energies of life slowly drain from your body. And then just before you die, They will place their mouth over yours, and suck out your last breath.

I,m sorry if this all sounds a bit rash, or rather is a bit rash, thats just how I feel at the moment! This will change all our lives forever in ways that we can not even imagine !! And it will get worse before it gets better!

We all know who is behind it.

No, we don't all *know* this is the work of Osama bin Laden.
Some people say this is a time for restraint...

Obviously whoever is behind these awful attacks needs to be apprehended. But come on, what you are saying is silly.
And one day, one day very soon, sombody will slip a knife into your belly and twist it. They will watch as the energies of life slowly drain from your body. And then just before you die, They will place their mouth over yours, and suck out your last breath.

Say Osama bin Laden is responsible.

Do you really believe that his suffering will bring any comfort to those he has hurt?

You may have lived in America, but until you have watched someone you love die by the hands of another, don't assume that revenge is what people who have need. They deserve better than that.
I,m sorry if this all sounds a bit rash, or rather is a bit rash, thats just how I feel at the moment!

I do understand that you are upset, but I don't agree with what you are saying.

I think the next person to quote Nostrodamus again should get 12 clicked.

    >We all know who is behind it.

They don't. They have good evidence but not 100% proof yet.

Look at the Oklahoma Bombing. When that happend everyone was screaming for Arab blood and it turned out to be a US person.

Personally I think it would be better if it was Bin Laden that did it, I don't think America could handle it if it found it's own citizens doing this.

This is probably more of an "Aftermath" than "Aftershock" post, but anyway ...... I found this in a news article on CNN.com

"In all, more than 1,400 are known or presumed dead, with thousands more unaccounted for and feared dead. Some 1,400 injured were admitted to New York area hospitals, many in critical condition with extensive burns.

"They're charred. Their skin is coming off. There's tremendous suffering," one emergency doctor said.

There were sporadic reports of survivors in the rubble. But in general, the macabre scene in lower Manhattan proved disheartening to rescue workers.

Sifting through the rubble, they saw thousands of body parts strewn about. A National Guardsman collapsed in anguish, his head in his hands as he sat on the curb.

Said one man leaving the scene: "You don't want to know. You don't want to know the things we stepped over. It was horrific."

    :(

I ask, what do these people thing they've actually achieved? All they did was kill 1000s of innocents. They've unified the entire USA for the first time since the 1940s, and I might also add that you know heavy sh*t is about to happen when governments start using quotes like "act of war". When the US finds out who is responsible, we're gonna see something fierce of a response!

That is the biggest crock or fúckin búllsh1t I've ever heard in my bleedin life. Are you reading too many fúckin fantasy books or something... that's nuts.

As for who did it, there's a strong idea but no proof whatsoever... quite likely but not proof. So if you ye twat, think there shold be world war fúckin 3 than you're an eejit. There should be some action, but not fúckin napalm... are u nuts?

On another note, I hope anyone with realtions/friends etc in NYC/US are okay, and their loved ones are too.... my sister works in Manhattan.... gladly she's alright.

I agree- and then beaten about the head with a wet fish. Nostradamus was the biggest(or perhaps the most famous) author of vagaries in human history. His words smack of an understanding of human nature, not some otherworldy power of foresight.

As far as the Bin-Laden finger-pointing cr*p goes, I'm not so sure it wasn't Hizbollah, Hamas, the GIA or possibly even the Tamil Tigers. There are a number of groups out there responsible. Although I can't say I'll shed any tears if one of those groups that is not responsible, gets the full wrath of the US intelligence community and/or war machine brought down on its head. None of those groups are exactly "innocent" in the taking of civilian life, be it this incident or hundreds more around the world. I agree with you on one thing YoMama- I don't give a flying fvck about justice, at this stage I just want vengeance...and I hate myself for it. The sad thing is I know I will feel a sense of diminished satisfaction when I see the pictures on CNN of Tomahawk cruises and everything from LGBs to Durandals raining down on suspected perpetrator's heads.

I think Hobbes makes a compelling argument here, and I'll take it further. If it's discovered that it was US citizens that perpetrated this dastardly act, blame will switftly and quietly be directed elsewhere. Any evidence of US citizen involvement, be it in planning, collusion or execution will be suppressed. Bearing in mind that it is possible, even likely that US citizens were corrupted into assisting this attack, I think we're at too early a stage to determine what our response should be, let alone who did this.

Ah c'mon Hugo- read that again. You've got to admit it's waaaay over the top. I want whoever did this to pay, but by being humiliated in front of millions, dragged through the mud the way Milosevic is being dragged now. The worst thing for a person with the power to carry out brutal acts is being shamed in public. Their egos tend to be bigger than their bombs, that is the underlying reason why suicide bombers make the choice- they believe their death will make a difference. Crushing those egos slowly and surely in public would go a long way to easing my pain, although I can't speak for those who have lost anyone through all this. At the end of the day, they are the biggest losers here- terrorists consider themselves soldiers, yet they mercilessly take thousands of people's lives. They may not have considered themselves at war before, but if my gut feeling is correct...they may do so now.

The "I don't care about justice, I want vengeance" line is typical of American arrogance and hypocrisy.

America has the support of the world at the moment but if it goes for a bomb everything in sight approach just to satisfy the good ole boy bloodlust mentality it risks losing some of that support (especially among moderate arab nations) and destabilising the world further.

I still can't believe what has happended and humanity itself is shamed by it. I don't want to offend those drooling for vengence but I am a firm believer in non-violence, in attack or retaliation. Of course many will call me unrealistic - "what if someone killed your family?" and I can't say how I would react under various circumstances but I, and I'm not religious by the way, think that true courage is in turning the other cheek and restraint is a real show of power and if I did react to certain circumstances then it would be my weakness not my strength.
None of this pontificating can help now though, I'm just reacting to the poster. I'm hoping that at the very least the US will prove who did this before blowing them to ****. I heard this morning they had names from the flight lists that they connected to Bin Laden but for such a well organised attack I can't believe they used their real names and the cynic in me hopes that the US don't decide to manufacture evidence pointing to somebody they want to blame. Somebody said if it turned out to be a domestic attack they would cover it up and I agree or they could do what they did for Oaklahoma, blame it on just one person and forget about any connections or support he had.
