Anyone know anything about this? Like, when it is?!

Moved house twice in past 12 months, so regular mail is redirected at least twice, and painfully slow!!

Suffice to say, don't think I can miss this...! :)

    Hello-

see www.ucd.ie/confer for all your conferring needs, as far as I remember tickets are sent a month or so beforehand so that you don't loose them!

Whats the story with your graduation is it true that they call you out in grade order, i.e. that the person who came first goes up first, second third, fourth etc, until LAST place!! in front of mas and das and grannies and the whole shebang!! Shocking.

No thats not how it works at all. At the start all the graduands process in with classical music playing in the background, then sit at the top of the hall in front of all the parents/relatives ect. After that all the academic staff process in in their robes and stuff, and sit up on the platform. Bursar makes a speech, then everyone is called up in alphabetical order to receive their scroll, then Hugh brady makes a long and waffly speech (that guy really likes the sound of his own voice!) After that Academics walk out down the centre, followed by the graduates, and everyone goes outside to chat and take pictures, then goes off to get food in the resteraunt or conservatory. People usually go out for dinner in the evening, followed by a night out with the class, which everyone turns up to! was a reall nice and memorable day though, hope you enjoy it Einsturzend :)
