My cousin and her husband hadnt started work at the time..they were on their way..
    Phew...Im going for a pint.
Funny how if people you know are safe you get happy and easily forget about the strangers who died...Human nature I guess.:(.

I hear you there Nem, I kinda switched off too when I found none of my friends were hurt at the WTC crash, and that my cousin at the Pentagon was evacuated a few minutes after 9 when the Army offices were hit. She's undergoing treatment at the Bethesda naval hospital for deep lacerations to her back, and surgery to repair damaged tendons in her left hand. The most important thing for me is that she got out relatively unharmed- several of her work colleagues were buried in the south west corridors and are being freed by rescue workers as I type this.

My deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences go out to all the families affected by this tragic and cowardly act. It's been a long day, but I know it's going to be hard to get to sleep tonight. I'll post more collected thoughts on the Humanities board tomorrow. Let's all spare a thought for the thousands trapped under tons of steel and concrete, and hope for their safe return :(

I had an uncle working in the north tower who barely escaped with his life...It came down as he was leaving. Debrie left him witha broken arm but other than that he's fine....
